Our passion for our craft fuels every project we touch.JOB OVERVIEWThe Safety Management System (SMS) Investigator/Analyst must investigate, analyze and identify the root cause or probable cause of all hazards, incidents or accidents reported or identified, create accurate factual chronological investigation reports as well as maintain the data entry and reporting system to ensure the timely collection of information. The SMS Investigator/Analyst must be respective of and have empathy for all those involved in each incident/accident and provide recommendations to improve safety and prevent recurrences. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESReview incoming daily Occurrencereports in the SMS database, gather additional information in support of such report and provide analysisPerform investigation of near-misses, incidents, and accidentsIdentify potential hazards and carry out risk analysesWork collaboratively with all departments, personnel, levels of management and Event Owners to provide investigation results, reports, and corrective/preventative actionsEnsure timely and appropriate follow up on the outcomes of all SMS investigationsDevelop and present recommendations to reduce the likelihood of a recurrencefor approvalParticipate in the monitoring, tracking and analysis of data for effectiveness and trendingMaintain Hazard Registry Database and other SMS related classification listsMaintain the SMS Awareness bulletin board postingsMust maintain confidentiality and integrity of the SMS program.Participate in safety meetings, preparing notes and agendasThe SMS group is part of the Quality Assurance Department and based on the workload, the SMS Coordinator may be assigned additional Quality Assurance duties and responsibilities, or other related duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.REQUIREMENTS Minimum five years experience in Aircraft Maintenance Production environmentSome experience with SMS is an assetBeing a licensed AME would be an assetDemonstrated planning, time management and organizing abilityRoot cause analysis education or commitment to obtainComputer familiarity and experience with MS Office (Word,Adobe and Excel)Strong interpersonal and communication skillsSelf-starter and the ability to work with minimal supervisionAbility to maintain a high level of confidentiality Willing to travel domestically and represent KF AerospaceSkilled at conflict resolution, problem solving and accepting constructive feedbackCapable of presenting, facilitating, or teaching individuals or groupsBENEFITSFull-Time staff benefits include (but are not limited to):Health and DentalShort & Long-Term DisabilityLife InsuranceHealth Spending AccountPersonal (Wellness) Spending AccountPaid vacation and Personal time offThe opportunity to bank overtimePension matching plan and voluntary RRSPEmployee & Family Assistance ProgramA bonus program based on organizational performanceLOCATIONThe successful incumbent would be based in our Hamilton, Ontario office. This role is 100% on-site; it is not hybrid or remote. SALARYThe wage band is level 10, $78,500-$98,000. The expertise and technical skill level of the candidate is assessed during the selection process for placement within the band. Note: The salary range maximum signifies full job knowledge.
