Reports To: Manager of Research and DevelopmentThe Junior Draftsperson position is an entry level position best suited to a recent graduate. About the Role: The Junior Draftsperson works closely with other members of the Product Development Team, and with Sales and Marketing and Operations to design, develop, and maintain our products in a way that maximizes utility and performance while meeting or exceeding regulatory requirements and considering ease of manufacturing. The Draftsperson will be responsible for preparing drawings and specifications, maintaining certifications, and participating in certain other activities related to the development and introduction of new product options, new products, and new equipment. Job duties include some or all of the following duties: Develop and prepare engineering designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data. Create building information models (BIM), using computer software, to provide digital representations of physical and functional aspects of buildings and other engineering projects. Operate computer-assisted design (CAD) and drafting workstations. Develop and prepare design sketches. Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets. Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data. Write technical reports. Qualifications: Technical Graduate or CET familiar with Autocad. Ability to work in a team environment. Experience in a manufacturing environment will be considered an asset. Technical aptitude and ability to think logically. Demonstrated computer skills and aptitude are required. Strong written and oral communication skills.
