Your Opportunity:Alberta Health Services (AHS) is looking for a dependable, highly motivated individual for the position of Environmental Services II (cleaner/housekeeper trained to work in healthcare) that is dedicated to both high-quality work and safety. AHS will provide the necessary training to safely clean and disinfect patient rooms, clinical areas, office areas, and other common staff/public areas in accordance with Alberta Health Services standards and practices. Shift schedules may include a combination of day, evening, and weekend shifts.Description: As a Laundry II, you will be responsible for transporting, preparing and washing soiled linen and distributing of clean linen and apparel. Your typical duties may include sorting and weighing soiled linen; loading, unloading and operating washing and drying equipment; preparing surgical textile packs; monitoring and adjusting workflow and volume to maximize equipment utilization and ensuring equipment is working properly. Required Qualifications: Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent. Physically capable to lift up to 20kg, walk and/or stand for the duration of your shift, and perform repetitive physical movements.Additional Required Qualifications: Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively, able to follow oral and written instruction. Basic knowledge and operation of a computer and a smart phone. Must be dependable and able to work with minimal supervision.Preferred Qualifications: Previous cleaning experience preferred. Experience performing cleaning duties in a healthcare environment would be an asset.
