Position OverviewThis role is to oversee and provide leadership to the daily operations of the automated warehouse with an emphasis on customer satisfaction, productivity, operational and cost efficiencies, machinery availability, overall labour climate with a focus on health and safety.ResponsibilitiesOversee a production team, a maintenance team, Human Resources, IT Support as well as ensure proper product management and inventory control of assets with a health and safety focusEstablish, define and communicate overall goals and objectives of the operation to the onsite teamBe a motivated team builder, coach and trainer to all members of the onsite teamCommunicate effectively with all levels of employeesEnsure a clear and constant communication with all levels of the onsite teamEnsure fair and transparent treatment of all team members through proper administration of benefits and salaryEnsure an open and effective communication with key members of the national office teamEnsure that customer needs and requirements are met and drive a collaborative relationship with the customerBring added value to the customer and ensure a mutually beneficial relationshipHire, train, manage and guide the team to meet or exceed metrics and goalsEstablish, plan and implement the necessary employee engagement programs required to foster a culture of teamwork and continuous performance improvementParticipate in setting up budgets and operational targetsIdentify opportunities for improvements to customer service and overall strategic growthTrain others in required work methods, company policy and safety requirementsImplement and setup documentation for the implementation of industry best practices, including standard operating proceduresOrganize, co-ordinate and supervise the work for the various teams in accordance with policies, laws and regulationsSet direction for facility while anticipating operational issues and develop preventative measures by analyzing quantitative, qualitative and trend data and make decisions based on this data that will positively impact productivity and sustainabilityCompliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety programOther duties as assigned QualificationsUniversity Degree in Engineering or Business Admin or equivalent related field5-10 years experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing environmentProven track record of success in a high paced leadership role in a manufacturing environmentAnalytical nature, able to problem solve with the ability to implement systems and lead by exampleExcellent communication skills; French is an assetFamiliarity with fundamental maintenance principlesExperience with budgeting, knowledge of financial principles and experience with capital project management an assetFamiliarity with quality principles and continuous improvement methodologies with advanced skills in organization and 5SLeadership experience in both unionized and non-unionized environments an assetFamiliarity with basic logistics and supply chain principlesPrevious specific (grocery or retail) industry knowledge an assetSalary range: $100,000 - $120,000
