We currently have an opening for a Global Trade & Customs Analyst at ELCAN. Reporting to the Sr. Supervisor, Global Trade & Security, you will be responsible for the coordination of export, import and trade compliance activities within the organization. As a key member of the Global Trade team, you will maintain export/import compliance procedures and program documentation, including product classification, Canadian, U.S. and International authorization management and administration, technology transfers and deemed exports, self-assessments and training. Primary Responsibilities:Ensure effective export/import compliance, in accordance with Canadian, U.S. and International export laws and regulationsPerform daily trade compliance activities, including:Review and approve hardware export authorizations both domestic and internationalPrepare and review customs documents such as, Commercial Invoices, CARM & CERS portal, USMCA and other Free Trade Agreement analysis and qualifications, validate HS codes and tariff mitigations opportunities.Technology transfers / deemed exports (Data Services Export Requests (DSER) forms)Review the Destination Control Statements for International Traffic in Arms (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and Controlled Goods specific shipmentsPreparation of end-user statements for Supply Chain ManagementImport classification, valuation, country of origin analysis, assists reportingSupport trade compliance and security audits and implement corrective actions, as requiredAssist with implementation of trade, customs and security compliance trainingSupply Chain Due Diligence to include: Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), Cyber DFARS, Sanction approvals, Annual Vendor Compliance CertificationsSupporting the development and implementation of improved processesContribute to and uphold a positive, collaborative, and respectful workplace culture.Qualifications & Experience:A University Degree or equivalent experienceMinimum two years of relevant experience in the export/import or shipment of goods and materials in CanadaExperience and working knowledge of Canadian Controlled Goods Regulations, U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations, and U.S. Export Administration Regulations is an assetKnowledge of Canada Customs and Global Affairs Canada regulations is an assetStrong multitasking skills and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Self-motivated with a consistently positive attitude.Eagerness to learn and grow through study, mentorship, and hands-on experience.
