JOB DESCRIPTION Veterinarian, Critical CareLocation: Calgary, AlbertaEmployment Type: Contract Full TimeCalgary Animal Referral & Emergency Centre is welcoming another residency-trained or Board-certified Criticalist (contract, full-time) to join other Criticalists on our specialty health care team to take over for maternity leave.Our Critical Care Department is a 7-day-a-week service, run full time by our Criticalists. Our Critical Care Department is a busy and growing service that works closely with both the ER and specialty services. The candidate’s responsibilities will include further advancement of the Critical Care department, primary management of critical in-patients and ER triages, support and mentorship of the Emergency department, and teaching and mentoring the interns and support staff. About Us is a 24-hour emergency and referral specialty hospital, which operates out of a 26,000 square foot facility in Calgary. The hospital has recently undergone a complete update and expansion to facilitate the ever-growing caseload and expanding specialty services, including the design of a new, state-of-the-art ICU with updated equipment for the Critical Care Service. The specialties include: Critical Care (, Oncology (1), Neurology (1), Dermatology (1), Dentistry (1), Internal Medicine (2), Ophthalmology (1), Surgery (3), Radiology (1), and Anesthesia (1).Our hospital offers a challenging; quick-paced, high-adrenaline work environment where team work and high quality care is at the heart of what we do.
