Seize the opportunity: take your next step with us and join our team.Railcar Loader (Casual, 12 month contract) - Sarnia, ONThis position is an existing position with a starting hourly wage of style="font-family:Arial;">This position is responsible for a variety of duties, primarily unloading CO2 from railcars to the plant storage facility and loading CO2 to the railcars from the plant storage facility. The loader will also be responsible for receiving and preparing the shipment for transport in PALS and completing the appropriate documents and checklist.Duties include but are not limited to:Load/unload rail car per Linde Safety Standards and ProceduresEnsure that the product received is compliant with the product specifications, seals and documents matches the railcar waybillReceive and release rail cars in PALS systemVisually inspect and secure the rail carsEnsure everything is mechanically sound and there is no defective equipment before loading or unloading.Perform batch testing of the plant storage tanks after every unloadingCommunicate with management on any problems as they occurCommunicate with Logistics on the railcar unloading schedulesCommunicate with local rail company on the delivery and railcar switch schedulesGeneral labour and housekeeping as requiredQualificationsQualifications:2-3 years’ experience working in a warehouse environment and intensive labour roleAbility and willingness to work Monday- Friday, on-call shifts, weekends, holidays and potential overtime as requiredMust be physically fit and be able to lift up to 60 pounds continuously and repetitively. Ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors in all weather conditions. Ability to climb up and down railcar rail bay stairs and stop/kneel/crouch/crawl repetitivelyAbility to perform mathematical calculations and basic computer knowledgeTransportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems (WHMIS) Training would be an assetGreat interpersonal skillsLinde has an extensive background check process which may include but is not limited to, a criminal background review, pre-employment medical, and may also include reference checks, and employment verification.Linde Canada Inc. is committed to providing accommodations for people with disabilities.
