Reporting directly to the CFO of Canada, this Finance leadership position is responsible for overseeing a broad financial portfolio, which includes Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Controllership, Taxation, and Supply Finance, directly and indirectly managing a team of 12 or more professionals. This role acts as a key strategic partner to senior leadership, ensuring robust financial management, governance, and alignment with regional financial objectives. The Senior Director is expected to lead transformation initiatives, optimize financial processes, and provide actionable insights to support decision-making at the highest levels. A focus on innovation, risk mitigation, and cross-functional collaboration will be essential in driving business success across all financial domains.Establish a Comprehensive FP&A Framework:Develop and maintain a consolidated view of FP&A across the business, ensuring alignment with controllership governance and internal controls.Develop and Implement Best Practices. Foster a well-controlled and adaptable financial operation by implementing best practices and tools that ensure strong fiscal management, encourage cross-team collaboration, and streamline workflows.Coordinate Financial Processes. Utilize big data and machine learning models to optimize spend planning, refine vendor performance insights, and forecast more accurately, enhancing financial decision-making and operational efficiency.Leadership and Team Development:Lead and develop a diverse team of 12 professionals, including FP&A, Tax, and Supply Finance staff, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture.Mentor and coach direct reports, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and resources to meet organizational and personal development goals.Risk Mitigation and Audit Liaison:Support long-term risk mitigation planning, serving as the key audit liaison for Canada. You will ensure that all areas impacting controllership, including tax compliance, are meticulously managed.Strengthen Controls and Governance. Ensure compliance with audit requirements and internal controls, fostering a culture of accountability and transparency across the organization.Serve as Key Audit Liaison. Act as the primary liaison for audits, ensuring all aspects of controllership, tax compliance, and corporate FP&A are managed effectively to meet regulatory standards.Projects and OwnershipSupport Special Projects. Offer financial expertise for special projects, including partnerships, new business models, and mergers & acquisitions, ensuring robust analysis and strategic alignment with overall business objectives.Act as Key Financial Liaison. Serve as the key financial liaison for NORAM financial integration from Canada, ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment with regional financial strategies.Oversee Controllership and Compliance. Ensure adherence to controllership governance and internal controls, facilitating a culture of accountability and compliance across all financial operations.Collaborate as a Trusted Advisor. Partner closely with the CFO and other senior leaders, providing insightful financial analysis and strategic recommendations to drive informed decision-making.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field. CPA preferred (or equivalent combination of experience and expertise)CPA Designation is a strong assetYou must be able to work from our Etobicoke office two days per week for days designated for the Finance teamMinimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in FP&A or business reporting roles, with strong experience in consolidation, forecasting, financial reporting, and variance analysis.Demonstrated experience in financial governance, process optimization, and integrity-checking of large financial datasets.Experience working in multi-unit or matrixed organizations is an asset.Experience leading or coaching teams in a fast-paced environment.Proven ability to influence without authority across business functionsAdvanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial planning systems.Experience with Power BI, digital analytics tools, or planning platforms is an asset.Familiarity with AI-enabled productivity and analytics tools (e.g., scenario automation, anomaly detection, report generation).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a challenger mindset.Excellent written and verbal communication, including executive presentation.Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment across Canada and NORAM teams.Strong time management and ability to meet tight deadlines.Bilingual in English (mandatory); proficiency in French is an asset.
