Job Overview:Position(s): Field MechanicShift Schedule: 3 weeks on, 1 week off Location: ManitobaForbes Bros Ltd. is seeking an energetic Field Mechanic (Full time, Permanent) to support our dynamic team based out of Manitoba. This role may require inter-provincial travel to other projects. The Field Mechanic maintains, repairs and overhauls heavy vehicles and industrial equipment at the project site. This role is accountable to ensure vehicle documentation is correct, regulatory requirements are met, and all documentation is in place before vehicles or equipment are issued. Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspectionsAssist with troubleshooting of electrical systems and componentsMaintain service truck and keep stocked with tools and spare partsAssist with the start-up and commissioning of new project sites Responsible for maintaining the service truck log books/Tailboards/Safety paperworkResponsible for creating and updating work orders within Viewpoint/Sent to Fleet ManagerMaintain shop tools and work areaMay be required to perform duties outside of normal responsibilities from time to time, as neededWhat We Are Looking For:Heavy Equipment Technician, Heavy Equipment Technician- Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic (Off Road), Heavy Equipment Technician – Truck and Transport Mechanic., is requiredMinimum 3 years' experience in the powerline industry, is requiredValid Drivers license, is requiredProficiency in Microsoft Word and ExcelFamiliarity with Federal and Provincial regulationsAble and willing to travel to various project sitesAbility to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment leveraging excellence in time managementStrong written, oral communication skills and interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively in a team environmentPhysically fit and able to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions and environments, inclusive of heavy liftingDisclaimer: As per client/site requirements, candidates may be required to undergo pre-access screening.
