Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity? In this role, you will manage all aspects of the International Payments portfolio and key payment-related strategic initiatives.  You will provide strategic direction for the International Payments portfolio, understand client needs, channel preferences, maximize client engagement, improve our competitive position and ensure strong risk management foundations.  You will have P&L accountability and ownership of pricing, features, fees, profitability and operational resiliency. This is a key “Win for Today” role in the Everyday Banking team that will help drive Personal Banking’s Empower 2030 goals of Providing Exceptional Value Propositions and Driving Scale and Efficiency – underpinned by prudent risk culture.  The role also collaborates with “Transform for Tomorrow” programs and key internal and external partners to position the business for the future and compete with traditional and non-traditional challengers. You will report to the Senior Director, Retail Payments & FX, and be a leader of a dynamic, collaborative, innovative and high-performing team.  You will be expected to contribute to team culture, consistent with the RBC Leadership Model. What will you do? Lead general management of the international payments product portfolio, including business performance, P&L management, end-to-end strategy development and execution, risk management, reporting, and forecastingDesign client-focused product strategies by deeply understanding client pain points, competitive landscapes, and market trends to define differentiated value propositions, drive sustainable growth and client satisfactionDrive cross-functional collaboration with Commercial Banking, Capital Markets, Enterprise Payments, Operations, Risk, and Technology partners to align on shared goals, optimize processes and enhance client experiencesTranslate strategic vision into actionable roadmaps, defining KPIs, MVPs, and iterative launch plans while ensuring profitability and risk mitigationDevelop financial business cases and analysis for product feature enhancementsFormulate strategic recommendations/positions and effectively collaborate with enterprise partners to successfully execute and implement product initiatives (go-to-market), while ensuring alignment with risk appetiteAct as advisor to partners and senior leadership on product enhancements and system changesResponsible for end-to-end risk management (reputational, regulatory, strategic, etc) and client remediation efforts, partnering with Legal, Compliance, Privacy and Risk partners to ensure adherence to Bank Act, Provincial Legislation, Privacy, OSFI, FCAC, and other regulatory requirementsResponsible for relationship management with external and internal partners, representing Retail Payments in strategic initiativesBenchmark RBC’s retail international payments performance to competitors using industry research and reportingMaintain awareness of economic trends, payments news releases and external competitor trends on a frequent basis to manage product impactWhat do you need to succeed? Must-have:Deep payments & domain expertise, including proven experience in international payments and working knowledge of end-to-end payment flowsStrategic mindset and problem-solving skills - ability to simplify complexity, identify a path forward and lead towards desired outcomesStrong analytical capabilities and financial acumenOperator’s mindset and execution capabilities – ability to anticipate and weigh downstream impacts associated with decisions.
