Hardware Clerk

As a Hardware Clerk with the Tofino Co-op, you are responsible for delivering personalized service. At the Co-op, we strive to establish a relationship with our members and encourage them to continue their patronage.Duties & Responsibilities: Provide information, assistance and service to customers in a manner which will promote the sale of merchandise and meet the needs of the customerOrder merchandise as directed by the Hardware ManagerAssist in general stock duties, including filling shelves when not cashingPerform receiving duties when requiredOperate point of sale terminal and prepare daily cash reconciliationPerform general housekeeping dutiesCome to work with a positive, professional approach and attitudeBe dependable for all scheduled shiftsProvide outstanding courteous customer serviceBe familiar with and adhere to all Tofino Co-op policies and proceduresOther duties as assignedQualifications:A secondary school diploma is preferredPrevious retail or customer service experience is an assetStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAttention to detailPrevious cash handling skills preferredWorking Conditions:Flexible - must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays regularly with opportunities to pick up additional shifts as per the business' needs Physical Requirements:Standing and walking for extended periods (up to 8 hours).Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.Occasional bending, kneeling, and climbing stairs.What Tofino Co-op Offers:Full Benefits Plan including Health and Wellness Benefits, Extended Health Care, Dental, Life Insurance, Short-Term & Long-Term Disability Insurance;Employer Matched Pension Plan (7.5% Matched);Employee Family Assistance Program;Competitive wages paid bi-weekly;Tuition Assistance;Excellent Opportunities for further development and advancement.If this opportunity speaks to you, we invite you to apply online by February 28, 2026.
