Thompson Construction Group is currently seeking a charismatic and experienced individual to join our team as a Heavy Civil Earthworks Site Superintendent working from our operations area in Fort McMurray. Reporting to the Project Director, the Site Superintendent is involved in a wide range of earthworks construction activities.Responsibilities: Ensure site safety and environmental standards are met or exceeded Organize the job site and crew to carry out the project plan Coordinate machine and manpower movement throughout the project Establish and communicate tasks to Site Foreman to ensure they clearly understand their respective roles and responsibilities Ensure compliance and enforcement of corporate health and safety policies and procedures Directly supervise all phases of the project and ensure quality control testing is completed and accurate Ensure subcontract forces work efficiently to meet schedule demands and that the work carried out is done in accordance with the plans and specifications Attend site meetings Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Heavy Civil Earthworks Construction and/or Mining Industry Previous experience leading teams of a minimum of 100 workers Ability to work in a team environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Willingness to work in the Fort McMurray area and live in remote camps, working a rotational schedule Must possess a valid driver’s license CSTS/OSSA or CSO/BSO Certification Leadership for Safety Excellence Certification Must be able to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test Additional Information: The above statements describe the nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
