Join North York General to accelerate your career Position Summary Sonographer, Ultrasound, Medical ImagingYour goal in this position is to perform examinations in the imaging modality of ultrasound and provide excellent patient and family centered care in a supportive and culturally sensitive manner. You also have great interpersonal and communication skills, and you effortlessly connect with physicians, staff, patients, and families. This position supports the Hospital’s academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation. This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for staff, physicians, volunteers , learners, patients and families. On a practical level, you will Perform all ultrasound imaging examinationsEnsure imaging equipment is in proper working order and necessary supplies are on handRecord and compute supply inventory for assigned areaCorrelate history, physical findings, lab reports, etc., with examinations requiredWork under pressure in a quick and efficient mannerDemonstrate excellent clinical and technical skillsWork effectively with the imaging teamOperate all the equipment in the ultrasound areaAssist in training ultrasound students Qualifications Successful completion of a recognized sonography program from an accredited institution. This training is in addition to any previous Para-medical certificationCurrent registration with the CMRITO is requiredCurrent registration with Sonography Canada is preferredYou ideally have a strong medical imaging backgroundMinimum one year as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer preferredHospital experience an assetBilingualism in French/English is an asset What We Offer Working at NYGH means working with a dynamic team of fellow healthcare providers, staff, and volunteers in one of Canada’s leading hospitals. This is a Full Time Temporary Position of 12 months with 8 hour shifts, Day, Evening,Weekends and On Call shifts in the Ultrasound, Medical Imaging department.
