Production Foreman

Duties will begin approximately late April, but on-boarding and training will begin immediately. During the production season, shifts will begin at 4:30 PM, but on-boarding will be 7:00 AM to 4:30 PMReporting to the Site Manager, the Production Foreman, in general, will be responsible for:Ensuring a safe work environment by enforcing rules pertaining to Health & SafetyMaintaining quality standardsEnsuring production targets are met or exceededTraining, developing & evaluating employeesHiringDisciplineSupporting other departments, projects and initiativesA typical day will include:Perform hand-off with previous Production Foreman to discuss safety, quality and production issues from the previous shift Perform a pre-shift toolbox meeting with the crewAssign and coordinate work for the shift, making adjustment as requiredCollect inspection and production records from previous shift for tabulationContinuously monitor the operation of the site and equipment, focussing on safety, quality and productivityEnsure adequate quantities of raw material and packagingCovering for absent operators, if necessaryCoordinating efficient repairs for unexpected equipment breakdownsImmediately communicate unexpected events with pertinent individuals following an escalation procedureCompleting a shift wrap-up reportApplicants MUST:Demonstrate their ability to work in a safe manner, maintain a good work ethic, set a good example and display a good attitudeDisplay a mindset of continuous improvement and organizationHave a minimum of Grade 12 educationHave reliable transportationWork independently and as part of a teamBe capable of working overtimeBe capable of working in a dusty environment and in cold and hot conditionsBe capable of lifting up to 50 poundsHave experience and/or training in a supervisory role, preferably in a unionized work environmentSubmit to a personality profile evaluation, competency test and skills evaluation (online and in-person)Provide a driver’s abstractMeet minimum performance standardsAssetsBilingualism (English and French)Training in First Aid, WHIMIS, Confined Space, Fall Arrest etc.Training and experience in Lean Manufacturing principlesExperience operating mechanized packaging equipment, forklifts, loaders, etc.VENEZ GRANDIR AVEC NOUS, LÀ OÙ L'HERBE EST VRAIMENT PLUS VERTE Ce poste ne vous intéresse pas?
