Our culture is focused on providing a safe and supportive workplace including paid training, excellent benefits, a wellness program, and much more.  What you will be doing: As a Family Connector (FC), you will provide in-home and community-based support to vulnerable children and families who have Children and Family Services involvement. Your caseload will include primarily Indigenous families and individuals who have experienced trauma and multigenerational abuse and neglect. Operating on a flexible work schedule which includes some evenings and weekends, you will build therapeutic relationships with parents using basic counselling skills and a trauma-informed care approach. You will work as a member of a collaborative team and will be responsible for the coordination, initiation, and mobilization of internal and external resources required to meet the service plan objectives.  You will engage your excellent problem solving, organizational and collaborative skills. Support family time between children in care and their parents and/or significant others in their life. Amplify caregiver's strengths while modelling and teaching parenting skills, child development, play, structure and routine, and positive discipline Support children and parents to connect with their culture and support Indigenous families to participate in ceremony  Identify, strengthen and reconnect relationships with family, kin, and friends creating long term support for the wellbeing, reunification and safety of the children. Initiate and facilitate family support network meetings  Assess ongoing risk for children and families receiving services as per the Child Youth and Family Enhancement Act (CYFEA) Transport parents and children as needed between appointments and scheduled family time.  Complete formal documentation and ensure file standards are met Provide on-call support to families 24/7 on a rotational basis   What you will bring to the role: Degree in Child & Youth Care, Social Work (or) Degree in Human Services (Psychology, Sociology, Education, Human Ecology or Early Childhood Development) with experience in the field (or) Diploma in Child & Youth Care or Social Work with related experience (or) Certificate in Human Services Sector with extensive experience with Indigenous culture and communities.  Background Check Process & Requirements: As a part of the selection process, The Family Centre will conduct reference checks with your most recent employers Police Information Check- Vulnerable Sector (completed within the last 6 months) Child Intervention Records Check (completed within the last 6 months) Registration with a professional body, if eligible (such as RSW) $2 million Vehicle Liability Insurance  Reliable Vehicle, available for regular use  and valid driver’s license 5-years Driver Abstract  Our Children Are Sacred Youth Suicide Prevention Training or ASIST Suicide Intervention Training within 3 months of start date Standard First Aid Level C CPR within 3 months of start date.  What you can expect: Training – comprehensive onboarding/orientation-process which includes service specific, leading-edge training, and agency-wide core training Feedback – a strong reflective supervision model that provides regular formal and informal opportunities for feedback  Performance Coachin g – formal and informal coaching regarding the development of personal and professional growth and development Reasonable Accommodation – The Family Centre will provide reasonable accommodation when requested by a qualified applicant or employee Compensation - Our comprehensive compensation package offered to employees reflects a strong commitment to employee wellbeing and is competitive within the marketplace.$49,112 to $63,892 annually  On-call compensation 36.5-hour work week Fully paid employee group benefits plan  Health spending account 3 weeks’ vacation  RRSP-matching Ongoing paid training Mileage compensation Paid sick time (up to 8 days per calendar year) Agency-wide social events Employee Resource Groups   Closing Date: December 12, 2025 The Family Centre thanks all applicants in advance.
