Site Description: Southlake Regional Health Centre, formally known as York Regional Hospital, is a full-service hospital with a clinically advanced focus. Southlake is responsible for developing and providing advanced levels of care to the more than 1 million people who reside in York Region, Simcoe County, and as far north as Muskoka. Through various expansions in its history Southlake has grown into a university-affiliated teaching and research facility, specifically offering advanced cardiac, cancer and thoracic care. This position is a high-caliber position and will also include the following responsibilities: Working on assigned shifts, you will work 12-hour shifts providing proactive and reactive security patrols and responses to incidents in the mental health ward You will be required to write reports and investigate routine incidentsRespond to coded emergencies in a quick and efficient mannerDisplay excellent customer service skills and be able to work with people who are under stress or in need of medical assistanceThis role required you to be physically fit and able to stand and walk for long periodsWork closely with vulnerable populationsMonitor for and escalate security concerns within the Emergency DepartmentAssist in developing security plans for high-risk patientsProvide security presence and support throughout the Emergency DepartmentUtilize verbal de-escalation techniques to manage conflictsOversee and support patient watch guards within the Emergency DepartmentWork closely with local Law Enforcement and Emergency ServicesEnsure the safety of staff, patients, and visitors within the Emergency DepartmentEssential Job Functions: Be courteous and cooperative with a high quality of customer service.Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across diverse cultures.Must be able to communicate clearly with clinical staff, and the general public while conveying professionalism and authority at all times.Able to maintain a professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances and people under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.Write clear, concise, and legible reports.Communicates any concerns/issues with Site Coordinator.Must be legally authorized to work in CanadaWhy choose Paladin?
