Millwright - Mining Location: Western Nunavut (FIFO from Edmonton)Employment Type: Contract/Temporary with Temp-to-Permanent OpportunityAccommodations: Camp providedStart Date: Late 2025/Early 2026Project Duration: 2-year construction phase + 10-20 years operational Position Overview We are seeking experienced Millwrights for a major mining construction project in western Nunavut. This is an exceptional long-term opportunity offering both temporary assignments and potential permanent placement with our client. Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair industrial machinery and equipment in mining operations Perform mechanical installations including conveyors, crushers, mills, and processing equipment Align and balance rotating equipment using precision measuring instruments Troubleshoot mechanical systems and perform preventive maintenance Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals Collaborate with other trades on construction and maintenance projects Ensure all work meets safety standards and mining regulations Required Qualifications Journeyman Millwright certification (Red Seal preferred) Alberta-based candidates strongly preferred Minimum 3-5 years industrial millwright experience Mining or heavy industrial experience preferred Valid driver's license and clean driving abstract Ability to work in remote camp environments Physical fitness for demanding work conditions Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications Previous mining industry experience Experience with large-scale industrial equipment Welding certifications (advantage) Additional safety certifications (H2S, First Aid, Confined Space, etc.) Experience with precision alignment tools and techniques Safety Requirements H2S Alive certification Standard First Aid/CPR WHMIS training Fall protection certification Additional mining-specific safety training (provided if needed) What We Offer Competitive rates FIFO arrangements from Edmonton Camp accommodations and meals provided Long-term opportunity: 2-year construction + potential 10-20 year operational phase Temp-to-Permanent pathway Comprehensive benefits for permanent placements Professional development opportunities in mining operations Full support from Sideworx Connect dispatch team Work Environment Remote mining location with modern camp facilities Rotation schedule (details to be confirmed) Team-oriented, safety-focused culture Opportunity to work on cutting-edge mining equipment Long-term career growth potential About the Project Our client is one of Canada's premier mining companies.
