Dock SupervisorThe Dock Supervisor supports the day-to-day operation of the loading dock by overseeing on-shift activities, coordinating deliveries, and supervising Loading Dock Operators. This role focuses on ensuring dock operations run safely, smoothly, and efficiently, while providing on-site leadership and customer service.The Dock Supervisor reports to the Dock Manager and plays a key role in maintaining operational standards and resolving real-time issues on the dock.What You’ll Do:Supervise Loading Dock Operators during assigned shiftsSupport daily loading dock operations, including traffic flow, access control, and deliveriesMonitor reservation systems, signalization, and CCTV to maintain safety and efficiencyAct as the primary point of contact for delivery drivers and on-site personnel during shiftsAddress and escalate operational issues to the Dock Manager as requiredEnsure compliance with safety procedures, post orders, and company policiesComplete shift reports, incident reports, and required documentationConduct basic equipment checks and report maintenance concernsAssist with training, mentoring, and coaching dock staffSupport access control, key management, and delivery coordinationWhat We’re Looking For:Previous experience in a supervisory or lead role within logistics, loading dock, security, or operationsFamiliarity with loading dock procedures, equipment, and safety practicesOccupational First Aid Level 1 or higherConflict Management and Resolution certificationStrong communication, report-writing, and record-keeping skillsLegally entitled to work in CanadaPhysically able to stand and walk for extended periods, climb stairs, and lift up to 30 lbsFluent in English (verbal and written)Strong communication and interpersonal skillsComfortable spending time on your feet and engaging with the publicValid TCP certificate is an assetValid Class 5 driver’s licenceSkills That Will Help You Succeed:Strong leadership and on-shift decision-making skillsProfessional and customer-service-focused approachAbility to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced environmentStrong situational awareness and attention to detailEffective problem-solving and conflict de-escalation skillsComfortable using computers, email, and reporting systemsAbility to enforce rules and safety requirements consistently and professionally#GTHPGuardteck Security is a BC owned and operated security firm providing professional security services across Canada.
