The Facilities Assistant will help coordinate small renovation projects, respond to incidents and notify the appropriate staff, supervisors and/or authorities, troubleshoot and resolve routine maintenance requests, and maintain a shift log of incidents, accidents, security sweeps and other activities. Your responsibilities will include: Conducting routine building inspections Identifying and reporting facility repair and/or maintenance needs Handling minor repairs Identifying and resolving minor building security issues Preparing incident reports Verifying inventory of equipment Paying close attention to occupational safety precautions Essential Qualifications: College Diploma (2 years) or acceptable combination of equivalent experience. Minimum three (3) years of facilities support experience, preferably in an academic environment. Experience conducting routine building inspections and identifying and reporting facility repair and/or maintenance needs. Experience handling minor repairs. Strong knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office suite, including SharePoint. Strong organizational, interpersonal and problem solvingskills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proactive customer service orientation. Ability to juggle multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines.
