Our state- of-the-art centres of community offer a range of health, fitness, and aquatics programs for individuals and families.The Lifeguard will report to the Aquatics Supervisor and work collaboratively with other members of the YMCA team to provide a safe and fun aquatics environment.Major Responsibilities:Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, proactive, and outcomes focused approach to delivering a 5-star customer service experiencePromote and actively sell memberships to potential membersUsing POS systems, creating booking, money handlingProvide accurate and up to date program information and registrationsBe efficient, highly organized and pay close attention to detailStrives to stay up to date with information regarding current activities, priorities, and events occurring in the facility and communityAssists in maintaining facility cleanlinessSupports high service standards and satisfaction ratings throughout the centre. Achieves all YMCA quality management targetsEnsures compliance with all provincial, regional and national YMCA initiativesParticipates in staff meetings as requiredActively contributes to a positive and healthy team environmentQualification-you bring:A minimum of grade 12 diploma or equivalent, additional vocational training will be considered an asset.A combination of experience and training related to customer serviceMaintain a satisfactory criminal record check and clear vulnerable sector searchCurrent First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to complete.Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months preceding your start date3 professional referencesAbout YMCA BC:By igniting belonging and championing health equity, YMCA BC strengthens the foundations of community.
