Learn more at About the RoleThe Maintenance Superintendent will be responsible for daily oversight as well as long-term vision of maintenance strategies associated within the whole complex. This is a unionized facility of which the Maintenance Superintendent indirectly supervises approximately 14 hourly colleagues and is directly responsible to the to the Plant Manager.The successful candidate will need to exhibit a mastery of the following responsibilities: safety, quality assurance, food safety/environmental compliance, government legislations & laws, cost management, capital disciplines and colleague development.The Maintenance Superintendent will work with department supervisors to establish and/or maintain appropriate preventative maintenance for efficient operation of the plant. Will be expected to maintain facility, structure, utility and related infrastructure and systems. Take a hands-on active role in managing maintenance department and employee performanceWhat You’ll DoServe as a key member of Site Leadership teamPlay active role and coach others in programs including human safety, food safety, quality, environmental standards, and Performance Excellence (CI)Ensure department is supporting the goals of the Plant and other departmentsProvide exceptional leadership and guidance:Ensure all employees, visitors, vendors, contractors understand and comply with safety policies and proceduresSupport production departments in safety and quality, including audit complianceAlign, deploy, execute the ADM Milling Maintenance and Reliability vision/strategyMaintain operational equipment to function as designed or expectedManage and implement preventative maintenance and reliability activitiesLead and support root-cause analysis/5-Why processes within the maintenance team regarding failures, EDT and execute plan to correctDevelop, review, analyze maintenance/reliability metrics and performanceManagement On-CallAssist operations leadership in training personnel on proper operations, cleaning, lubrication, troubleshooting, and adjustments to production equipmentManage an effective storeroom and spare parts inventory to ensure that needed parts are availableCoordinate maintenance program to schedule work with/around production scheduleMaintain an effective equipment and work history, and preventative maintenance program using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)Ensure that all maintenance work is documentedManage ongoing maintenance and reliability-related projectsAsset reliability and defect eliminationPeople management and development including retention, recruiting, and team engagementIdentify training opportunities and needsFacilitate training sessions for maintenance and site personnel, focusing on precision skills training and development, safety practices and work standardsEnsure healthy planning and scheduling process is functioning for the facility Lead Plant to maintain personnel and process safety:Maintain an environment in which personal safety is top priorityEnsure team works safely and department maintains compliance with all health and safety regulationsEnsure operation of the site is carried out with all permits, laws, regulations, and best practicesAlign department goals with plant goalsCommunicate direction and priorities to department, leveraging a structured management systemEnsure plant’s adherence to established product, environmental, safety, housekeeping and quality guidelinesDemonstrate ADM Core Values in decision-making and actionsCollaborate with other work groups to develop a strategic vision for the department, put into action through the department deployment planSupport Quality and Food Safety Management SystemsModel the Performance Excellence Journey:Lead and coach team to leverage continuous improvement tools to achieve department and plant KPI'sEnsure deviations from KPIs and incidents are driven to Root Cause elimination by teamDemonstrate commitment to improving safety, processes, and efficiency of the plant by delivering department deployment plan in ‘what’ (metrics) and ‘how’ (means)Work in collaboration with Centers of Excellence to improve the operations technology and reliability Effective Communicator:Demonstrate strong communication skills, written and spokenInterpret and ensure consistent application of organizational policies and proceduresAdditional roles and responsibilities to continually develop self and other teamsWhat You BringResults-driven to achieve goals established by leadershipDemonstrated leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skillsExcellent organization and multi-tasking skillsComputer skills, capability with Microsoft ProductsCan work in all types of climates including extreme hot/cold temperatures, noisy, dusty environments, all of which require Personal Protective EquipmentAble to climb stairs, access ladders, catwalks, elevated working platformsSome lifting, sitting, standing for long periods, working at heights, bending, kneeling, respirator-qualifiedWilling to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidaysEducation and ExperiencePrior experience leading/supervising peopleHave one of the following trade certificate: 433A -
