Honorarium Position

Overview

The Deputy Academics Commissioner (Finances) shall assist the Academics Commissioner and adhere to and follow official ASUS policy as found in this manual and as interpreted by Council and Assembly. The Deputy Academics Commissioner (Finances) is responsible to the Academics Commissioner.

Application Deadline

Applications are due by March 30th, 2025 at 5PM EST.

Time Commitment and Remuneration

Term: May 1st, 2025 – April 30th, 2026

Hours: 10 hours per week

Honorarium: Awarded based on the Honorarium Grid in the Human Resources Policy (Click here)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Academics Commissioner with managing the financial aspects of DSCs, including budget allocation and expense tracking.
  • Oversee funding and ensure timely reimbursements for commission related expenses.
  • Work with the Academics Commissioner to develop financial plans for programming and resources.
  • Provide regular financial updates to the Academics Commissioner regarding commission funding and other academic initiatives.
  • Hold bi-weekly check-ins with DSC co-presidents jointly with the Deputy Academics Commissioner (DSC Finance).
  • Attend DSC Assembly and Major's Night. 
  • Hold a minimum of five (5) office hours per week.
  • Be a member of and attend weekly meetings with the Academics Core Team.
