Staff housing is available, so your dream of living in the mountains is part of your adventure at Manning Park Resort.  We are presently searching for our next great team member as a Patroller to join our Alpine team. If you can provide our guests with an amazing experience, combined with working as an energetic part of our resort, we want to hear from you.  Responsibilities include: (but not limited to) Compliance with all Manning Park Guiding Values, policies, and procedures as outlined in employee handbook and Patrol ManualEnsure guest and safety through identifying and mitigating hazards, maintaining all ski area ropes and signs, opening and closing runs, assessing, and mitigating avalanche risk, compiling weather data, providing first aid, participating in rope rescues, locating missing persons within bounds, and contributing to public education.Patient care record keeping and incident investigation documentationGuest Relations, including managing difficult guestsExemplify and enforce the Alpine Responsibility CodeAssisting with all eventsCommunicate clearance to open runs, on-hill hazards, etcKeeping the ski area clean of debris and garbageMaintenance, inspection, and documentation of all Ski Patrol equipmentSign and uphold Manning Park’s Confidentiality AgreementNight On-Call resort/staff first aidAssisting Lift Operation with Daily openingOther tasks as requiredJob Requirements / Qualifications: Valid Occupational First Aid Level 3 (Preferred) or higher certification or CSP, 80 hr. Wilderness First Aid, or equivalent.Safety-oriented working attitude and a professional mannerExcellent communication and guest services skillsAbility to be a supportive team memberAble to follow direction and work unsupervisedAdvanced skiing/snowboarding skills; must be able to ski all runs with tobogganAbility to work in adverse weather conditionsIn excellent physical conditionPrevious experience in patrol, first aid, snowmobile driving, SAR an assetAvalanche Skill Training 1 (AST 1) or higher an assetFall Protection training, Work on High or Rock Climbing experience are assets.This is a Seasonal Position so you must be able to commit to the role for the full Winter Season (November-April). As a seasonal team member you may be presented with opportunities to cross-train and support other departments to meet seasonal demands.
