As part of the Fixed Wing Search & Rescue (FWSAR) Operational Training Unit (OTU) at 19 Wing Comox, we are looking to hire Maintenance Technicians to work on our Simulator. Duties & ResponsibilitiesCarry out preventive and corrective maintenance (hardware and software), and operational support, as detailed in the quality and maintenance documents, to achieve required availability and reliability on training devicesPerform and assist in the analysis and resolving of software and hardware related issuesMonitors and ensures that all training devices are serviceable and ready for trainingIdentifies potential system problems and confers with technical experts and colleagues to formulate plans to solve such problems using approved processes and proceduresSupport internal and external customers for modifications, updates, testing, maintenance and repairProduce/update maintenance records in according with established practices & processesDebug and troubleshoot complex problems spanning a wide range of technologies including, but not limited to: computer systems, networking, audio/video distribution, avionics systemsAbility to travel and work shift/overtime when neededRequired Skills & Experience2-year technical degree or 4 years in an electronic, avionic, or technical related field.Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.Customer-centric with experience and success providing customer serviceProven experience with database design and SQL, familiar with GIT, software development, and knowledge of computing networks and architectureAbility to handle sensitive situations with tact and be a dynamic team playerStrong knowledge of English, read, written and spokenStrong communication skillsPhysically able to perform manual labour tasks, and/or work in confined spacesMANDATORY: Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen, a Permanent Resident or with a valid Work PermitMANDATORY: Capable of obtaining and maintaining both Controlled Goods Clearance and a Government of Canada security clearanceDesirable qualifications:Understanding of aircraft terminology and simulation devicesAbility to interpret schematics and other technical documentsExperience on flight training devicesExperience in military environmentExperience in material controlCAE offers: An environment where your initiatives will be recognized and valued The opportunity to work on a variety of projects on a multidisciplinary team The possibility to work from home occasionally Flexible schedules Attractive employee benefits About CAEAt CAE, we equip people in critical roles with the expertise and solutions to create a safer world.
