Must be able to operate a grader and have experience working and repairing gravel roads, performing both rough and fine grade finishing. The position requires the successful candidate to be detail orientated and physically fit with the ability to complete manual labour tasks. A minimum Class 5 license is required.Job Overview and ResponsibilitiesPerform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment, including routine cleaning and greasing to ensure optimum performance of machineryComply with safe working procedures and practicesSafely and skillfully operate a grader on both public and private construction sitesPrecisely operate grader blade to shape base surface within one inch Understand grades and slopes in relation to the jobRead and interpret plans, follow survey markersOperate controls to regulate height and angle of grader bladeUnderstand and comply with all aspects of the rules and regulations regarding Ground Disturbance Excavating, backfilling and clean up of sitesOccasional labour workRequires a flexible work schedule including overtime, weekend and out of town work as required during the construction season (May - November)Other duties as requiredPREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO LOCAL CANDIDATESJob Posted by ApplicantPro
