The Senior Quantity Surveyor (Commercial Manager) will manage contractual aspects of projects, ensuring profitability, compliance, and risk mitigation. Work closely with project teams, clients, and subcontractors to manage Change Orders and commercial negotiations.
- Manage a team of Project Coordinators
- Manage Change Orders
- Handle claims and potential disputes to protect commercial interests
- Identify and execute strategies for profit enhancement
- Ensure contract compliance
- Oversee contract negotiations
- Resource for the team for information and interpretation of contract clauses
- 8 or more years of direct work experience in a project role for a mid-size to large general contractor
- University Degree in an appropriate construction-related field, or equivalent
- Major project experience (Projects with a value of $1B or more)
- Knowledge of construction industry trends and regulations
- Proficiency in cost estimation, forecasting, scheduling, risk management and reporting
- Strong mentorship and coaching skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to achieve results as part of a team
- Frequent travel to local site and off-site locations as required
- High level of self-awareness, entrepreneurial mindset and established personal values
- A solid understanding of all construction trades, safety and construction techniques.
