Are you our next all star?This existing role reporting to the Manager, General Accounting, the Corporate Accountant is responsible for performing various general accounting entries including but not limited to fixed assets, prepaids, utilities and payroll entries. This position is also responsible for preparing month end GL reconciliations as well as the preparation of various reports (CAR/Capex, Inventory, Weekly Reporting). What you will be doing:Principal Responsibilities: Provide accounting support for fixed asset accounting which includes maintenance of JD Edwards fixed asset ledgers including additions, disposals, transfers and recording of depreciation/amortization on a periodic basis for multiple legal entitiesConfirm fixed asset additions adhere to company’s capital policy and track projects status for projects under construction in progressPrepare month end fixed assets continuity schedulesPrepare annual budgets and monthly forecasts for depreciation and amortization schedulesPrepare and analyze actual variance analysis versus budgets and forecast and provide detailsPrepare CAR/CAPEX report as well as provide support to the FP&A department for any queriesPrepare monthly utility accruals and analysis/reporting of utility costs versus budget and forecast Record company's prepaids to ensure classification adheres to company's policy and maintain prepaid amortization schedulePrepare journal entries for allocations and accrualsPrepare and provide support to Operations for the inventory reporting for the upcoming inventory counts as per schedule Process bi-weekly payroll and benefits files and review to ensure files are free of errors prior to uploadProcess weekly loyalty files and ensure files are free of error prior to uploadAnalyze adjustments and prepare journal entries for month end close and assist with period end close, analysis and reporting Prepare month end account reconciliations for fixed assets, prepaids, and other A/R and accrual GL accounts including analysis and investigationPrepare supporting schedules and documentation for external auditors as requiredPerform other duties and special projects as assigned How you will succeed:Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting requiredEnrollment in CPA/CGA/CMA accounting designation preferred2-3 years experience with enterprise software including fixed asset module, JD Edwards an assetAbility to meet month end deadlinesGood working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principlesAdvanced knowledge of Excel.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAre you #ALLin?At Rexall, we are better together.
