We are currently seeking a Senior Inspector to complement our transportation team in the Greater Toronto area to play a lead role in the delivery of environmental assessment and functional / preliminary and detail design assignments primarily for public sector clients. Due to expanding business opportunities in Ontario and elsewhere within the company, this position offers growth in the areas of technical / professional development and project management.Responsibilities:Checks and inspects construction activities, operations and work to ensure compliance with the contract documents, drawings, and specificationsConducts site surveys, confirming scope of work, obtaining relevant information, equipment and materials and maintains quality and payment records in a daily diary for the work completedCompiles field / test data in a report form for review by the Contract AdministratorLiaise / Coordinate with service providers for specialized inspections and / or testing to ensure the tasks are completed in accordance with the terms or reference, specifications or agreementAttends site meetings as requiredObtains video / photographic records as requiredRecords, reviews and addresses contractor questions and clarifications by reporting to the Contract Administrator for resolution if not already provided to the contractorAttends site meetings and reconnaissance on siteAble to hand multiple priorities without losing focus​Qualifications:A Post-Secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology / TechnicianMinimum 4 years' experience in engineering/constructionPrior experience inspecting transportation structures and working on bridges, culverts and/or retaining wallsEither registration as a Technician or Technologist with O.A.C.E.T.T. or Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training with PEODesignation as determined by O.A.C.E.T.T. as a Road Construction Senior Inspector (rcsi) is an assetAble to work overtime, on weekends and nights, as requiredStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work well in a team environmentProficiency with MS Office an assetA valid Ontario driver's license and access to a vehicle is requiredDetail orientedJob Type:RegularJob Profile: For internal useField Technical IIIAttention Staffing & Recruitment Agencies: Morrison Hershfield will not pay fees for recruitment activities related to the hiring of a candidate unless a written service agreement has been established between a duly authorized representative of our Corporate Human Resources department and the recruitment/placement firm.
