Visit us today and check out www.novascotia.com to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the OpportunityReporting to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, The Radiological Technologist is responsible for the delivery of patient centered care while operating radiological/accessory equipment with minimal supervision while exercising independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. The Radiological Technologist performs a variety of diagnostic or therapeutic procedures requiring the use of ionizing radiation, applying the ALARA principle, while continuously remaining responsive to and responsible for each patient in their care. The Radiological Technologist is responsible for effective communication in a multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary environment while fostering a culture of safety in the workplace.Travel to other sites may be required.Multi-Site: This position is based out of Valley Regional Hospital but may be scheduled to work out of the Eastern Kings Memorial Community Health Centre and the Western Kings Memorial Health Centre.Multi-Site: This position is based out of Bayers Lake Community Outpatients Centre and may be scheduled to work out of the QEII Health Sciences Centre (Victoria General Hospital, Halifax Infirmary and the Nova Scotia Rehab Centre).About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Radiological TechnologyCanadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certificationNova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure Previous CT experience is preferred (**for COBEQUID/DGH ONLY**)Previous experience is an assetQualification to work in more than one Diagnostic Imaging modality is an assetBasic Life Support CertificationAbility to use time effectively by organizing and prioritizing duties, while working independently and under minimal supervisionPossess the physical capabilities to perform the duties of the positionDemonstrates initiative, organizational and prioritizing skills; and the demonstrated the ability to work collaboratively within inter-professional teamsComprehension of the technical language to be able to review and use manuals and take part in relevant discussionsCompetencies in other languages an asset, French preferredPlease ensure your resume is up to date and includes all relevant education, experience, training, and certifications.HoursPermanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly Long assignment full-time position; 75 hours biweekly Approximately 12 monthsShift work and call required, evenings, nights, and weekends (for QEII and other areas not mentioned below)Call back, stand by, and shift work required, including evenings, days, weekends and holiday coverage. Nights may be required (For BLCOC)Shift work required, including days, evenings, weekends and holiday coverage as well as on call service after midnight (For Hants)Rotation to other areas in Central Zone Diagnostic Imaging may be required (for QEII and Hants only) Shift work required, evenings, nights, and weekends.
