Job Description Sutherland Medical Clinic (Dr. Joseph M. Balaton) is looking for ambitious family physicians interested in joining/taking over a busy full service family practice. Dr. Balaton is also moving toward retirement and wish to sell the clinic and office building on Central Ave. in the future. The clinic location has served the Sutherland area for 64 years and is a well established full service family medicine clinic. The clinic can be home to at least four physicians, and they can control the overhead costs by owning the practice’s real estate in a prime location. The clinic has qualified for the full service family physician bonus and should qualify for the full Transitional Payment Model (TPM) stipend. Doctors who qualify for TPM will be charged 20% overhead and all others will be charged 25% overhead. The office has 8 exam rooms, one treatment room, two nursing stations, and three to four consulting rooms. The clinic presently provides primary care, shared obstetric care, prenatal, newborn, and pediatric care WCB, HTB, chronic disease, Aviation and Marine medicine. Sutherland is a very diverse area with many seniors, university students, and young families. This is an excellent opportunity for several family physicians to step into a thriving practice and expand it. The office is open Monday to Friday right now but has been a walk-in clinic and full service clinic capable of providing extended hours and weekend hours with more doctors. There is an X-ray facility, presently not in use that could be brought back into use. There is a pharmacy across the street and other a couple blocks down. This is a vibrant community with many people looking for a local physician. We receive numerous inquiries every day from patients from all over the city looking for a family doctor that could take new patients. I am hoping to have others join and work with me that would be interested in eventually taking over the practice and purchasing the office building.
