Job Summary Dalhousie University’s Psychology and Neuroscience Department is the top Psychology and Neuroscience Department in Atlantic Canada. The Clinical Psychology PhD program is a Canadian Psychological Association (CPA)-accredited program which follows the scientist-practitioner model. Reporting to the Administrator, Psychology and Neuroscience, the Clinical Program Assistant provides administrative support for the accredited Clinical Psychology PhD Program. Key Responsibilities Ensure overall smooth operation of the clinical psychology PhD program and provide administrative support to the Director of Clinical Training (DCT) and Associate DCT. Format and prepare correspondence, reports, notices, agendas, forms, lists, brochures, etc. as relevant to the clinical psychology PhD program. Act as the principal liaison with the deans’ offices Faculty of Science, Faculty of Graduate Studies), VP Academic and Provost and other university departments, external psychological communities (hospital and private practice), and other universities in relation to the Clinical Psychology PhD program. Coordinate and prepare annual reports and other documentation required by the accrediting body (CPA), as well as internal (FGS) program unit reviews. This would include coordinating the accreditation process (compiling documents, assisting with the self-study, arranging internal and external review, ensuring all required documents are included). Provide administrative coordination for the department Ethics Committee, and provide support for the department participant pool by distributing and collecting instructor forms, adding classes that offer credit points to the Sona System, and other duties as required. Provide reception support, answer phone calls, answer questions, receive shipments, receive students assessments, and other responsibilities for the main office as needed. Note The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work from within Nova Scotia) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines. Required Qualifications Business/Office Administration Diploma with a minimum of three years’ related work experience in an office setting (or equivalent combination of training and experience). Proficient computer and internet skills (MS Office Suite, internet search engines, email software, etc.) and ability with using online team communication applications (Teams, Planner, etc). Demonstrated excellent written and oral communications skills. Demonstrated excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task and maintain a high degree of accuracy. Demonstrated high degree of discretion with confidential material. Assets University degree. Experience with the administration of an accredited health-related training program. Familiarity with the Sona System. Familiarity with the Canadian Psychological Association structure, rules, and requirements. Familiarity with Dalhousie systems (room bookings, timetables, Navigator, Opinio).
