Alberta, CanadaJob Family Group:Production and Manufacturing DownstreamWorker Type:Other People PaidPosting Start Date:December 4, 2025Business Unit:Experience Level: Experienced ProfessionalsJob Description: Position PurposeAbout the Opportunity:Shell Scotford is seeking fourteen (14) Power Engineering Student Operators (also known as Student Operators internally) who are currently enrolled in Power Engineering Program or Computer Managed Learning.As a Power Engineering Student Operators, you will be assigned to units that contribute to your steam time for Power Engineering certification. You may also have the chance to work in multiple process units on site. Your work will be guided and supervised by a qualified shift operator and a Production Team Lead.The start and end dates for this role will vary based on the specific program and school you are attending.Duties will vary depending on placement however could include the following:Unit roundsTroubleshootingMonitoring equipmentAssist in preparing the equipment for maintenance, as well as for sampling and testingSkills & RequirementsMust have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employerMust be enrolled in a Power Engineering program (finishing first year or graduate term of the program in April/May) or a 4th Class Certification course requiring steam hours to complete either your 4th or 3rd ABSA certificationsMust possess a valid driver's licenseAble to climb ladders and stairs, work at heights and in confined spacesAbility to follow safe lifting techniques, able to lift and carry 20 kg from ground to waist levelAbility to work safely wearing a respirator or Self-contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)Willing to comply with Shell's drug-free and harassment-free work environment and comply with all safety policies and proceduresWilling to engage in new digitalization solutions and learn new technologies as applicableOpen to working a rotating shift schedule, which includes nights, weekends, and holidaysWilling to work outdoors in inclement weatherMust reside within the area or be willing to relocate at your own expense for the duration of your student termApplicants need to upload their latest resume and Power Engineering school transcript.
