StrategyCorp is looking for a new Government Relations Consultant to join our team.WHO WE ARE?StrategyCorp is a consulting firm focussed on delivering integrated government relations, strategic communications, and management consulting strategies. From its offices in Toronto and Ottawa, StrategyCorp services clients across Canada and around the world.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR?The successful candidate should have knowledge, experience and interest in municipal governance, land use planning and public administration. In addition, a good first-hand knowledge of the provincial government and its land use policies. The successful candidate will also share our passion for delving into complex issues that require strategic thinking, problem solving, and a good understanding of public engagement best practices.TO BE SUCCESSFUL, YOU WILL NEED TO POSSESS:Experience in Ontario's municipal land use planning and development approval processes, preferably at a project-scale (e.G., as a development proponent, work in a municipal councillor's office, or in a municipal planning department)Experience with the City of Ottawa's decision-making processesExcellent writing with superior attention to detail – particularly taking complex subjects, relaying them in clear, concise formatsDemonstrated critical thinking skills and aptitude for problem‐solvingStrong decision‐making abilities within the scope of the position and areas of responsibilitiesDemonstrates ability to take initiative and practices sound independent judgmentAbility to work flexibly to tight deadlines, under pressure, as part of a teamExemplary customer service skills, including dealing effectively with clients, elected officials, and government/political staffKnowledge of the machinery of Ontario municipal and provincial government, the public sector, and the private sectorAbility to organize own work, co‐ordinate projects, set priorities, meet deadlines, and follow‐up on assignments with a minimum of directionExcellent research skills to pursue topics through various online/offline sourcesCore math skills is an assetExperience in management consulting and business strategy is an assetProficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)HERE ARE THE MUST HAVES:2‐3 years of work experienceExperience in public policy developmentFamiliarity with municipal decision making processes and the political environmentExperience in consulting is an assetWHY JOIN US?Opportunity to work in a collaborative and high-impact environment.Competitive SalaryHybrid work environmentCareer development; we believe in growing our people and helping them achieve their goalsHealth benefits & Wellness Account, covered by us3 weeks of vacation, flex days and a long break during the holidaysParental Leave Top-upPhone allowanceAnd a whole lot more…A BIT MORE ABOUT US:At StrategyCorp, strategy is at the foundation of everything we do.
