They maintain an efficient and organized restaurant by managing guest flow, maximizing seating capacity, and communicating with all employees. Hosts leave a lasting impression on all guests through their professionalism and attention to detail.What will you be doing? You will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standard:Act as an ambassador for Eldorado ResortEnsure that the front entrance, host stand, and surrounding areas are clean and organizedEscort guests to their table, engage them in conversation, and seat them accordinglyKnow all table numbers and maintain awareness of which servers are in each sectionBe aware of what is happening in each section of the restaurant while service is goingEffectively manage guest flow to maximize seating capacityAccurately take reservations and modify guest status in OpenTableFill out detailed special requests in OpenTable for birthdays, anniversaries, VIPs, etc., and ensure that all fellow team members are informedCommunicate regarding reservations and updates with the kitchen to ensure all necessary preparations can be madeCommunicate effectively with Servers, Bartenders, and Managers when necessaryHave complete knowledge of the menu including allergensTake to-go and room service orders and perform daily checks for room service traysCoordinate with culinary team and Front Desk for daily amenity deliveriesUnderstand the payment system and be able to take payment for a guest Follow lost and found procedures including collecting items and passing them on to the Manager on Duty or Front Desk (when open)Other duties as assigned or required What are we looking for?To successfully fill this role, you should demonstrate the following: Minimum 1-year experience in customer service and/or a restaurant is considered an assetMinimum 16 years of agePassion for the restaurant and hospitality industryPositive attitude and a willingness to think outside the boxAbility to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environmentOrganizational skills, ability to multi-task, and high attention to detailStrong oral and written communication skillsExperience with Squirrel and OpenTable considered an assetValid Serving It Right certificationMust be available during the day on weekdays, as well as flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidaysPerksEmployee discounts on accommodations, dining and marina at our sister properties (Hotel Eldorado, Manteo Resort, Eldorado Marina, Hampton Inn & Suites Kelowna Airport, Four Points Kelowna, Home2Suites)An excellent work environment, with a focus on staff recognition and teambuildingRoom for growth and development Don't miss this exciting opportunity to join our Eldorado Resort family
