Job Summary

As the Manager, Global Logistics you will oversee and manage all aspects of transportation operations. This includes managing international logistics via Air and Ocean and Domestic logistics via OTR, ensuring timely delivery of goods, reducing costs and maintaining compliance with transportation regulations. The role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. You will analyze reports and trends to identify opportunities for improvement both internally and with our partners (customers and suppliers).You will be responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement of the transportation network by doing analysis and benchmarking, assessing their feasibility and managing their implementation.You will be responsible for meeting or reducing the logistics budget, including ensuring that invoices are approved on time and month-end reporting is accurate. You will be the owner of the Global Logistics performance metrics, ensure their maintenance, analysis, publication and monitoring monthly and quarterly. You will supervise the work of the Logistics Specialist and are therefore responsible for the objectives and performance of the team members, as all related tasks. You may also be asked to act as a substitute specialist in the absence of his team members Responsibilities & Duties:

Operational Management:

Develop and implement transportation strategies and plans to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Oversee the daily operations of the transportation department, ensuring the timely and safe delivery of goods. Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and carriers to ensure seamless logistics operations. Make sure to respect and enforce the SOPs in the sector of activity

Logistics and Planning:

Monitor and analyze transportation costs and develop strategies to minimize expenses. Manage the transportation budget, ensuring cost-effective operations. Ensure compliance with all local, and international transportation regulations. Help develop and implement KPIs Participate in regular ABR, QBR, and bi-weekly operational calls with carriers and help implement solutions when necessary.

Customer Service:

Address and resolve customer inquiries and complaints regarding transportation services. Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding delivery schedules and any changes.

Technology and Systems Management:

Help implement any new technology retained to support the logistic operations and act as a SME for technology ownership. Stay updated on emerging transportation technologies and provide recommendations as needed. Analyze data and generate reports to assess the performance of transportation operations.

Specific Tasks Related To Employee Management

Supervise and lead a team of specialists that organise transportation from all over the world, via Ocean, Air and domestically via road. Conduct performance reviews, provide training, and support the professional development of team members. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment. Hire staff, manage and evaluate their performance Develop the team's potential and versatility. Identify training needs and develop training plans with resource persons for the team and plan financial requirements to support training. Involve and coach direct reports in problem solving to maintain good working relationships and motivate them to go the extra mile in achieving results by promoting continuous improvement. Regularly communicate the operational results. Plan and anticipate staffing needs to support company growth. Encourage teamwork, team spirit and collaboration between the different sectors of company and the other departments.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: 

Bachelor degree in logistic, related field or equivalent experience

3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position, in pharmaceuticals, transportations, retail industry or food industry.

Analytical and synthesizing ability Troubleshooting skills Continuous improvement skills Ability to train, motivate and develop a team Good negotiations skills Good planning and organization skills Ability to manage suppliers and ensure suppliers performance is as per expectations or better. French and English (spoken and written) as this role will be in direct communication with suppliers outside the province of Quebec. Highly developed situational leadership Ability to react in a crisis (Global Geopolitical pressures, Port strikes) Knowledge of SAP environment and the Microsoft Office
