The Test Technologist will perform a variety of tasks such as testing, troubleshooting and repairing electro-mechanical seismic sensors and related products.A day in the life: Programming & Testing Programming of devices and assembliesFunctional test of final assemblies, sub-assemblies and circuit cards (digital, analog and RF) using defined test software, fixtures and equipmentSetup and run thermal testing of assemblies, debug failing productsTroubleshoot and debug, down to component levelRead and understand schematics, layout files, test procedures and other technical documentsPerform RF, Digital, Analog electronics testingFunctional testing of circuit cardsTroubleshoot and debug failing cardsIdentifying efficiencies in test process NPI and Product Development SupportAssist in the validation of production drawings, work instructions and BOMsSupport labor studiesQualityWork closely with other team members to resolve material / assembly related issuesMaintain records and defect related dataSupport and/or assist in yield investigations, identifying root cause. What you bring to the team:Experience and EducationPost-secondary education in electronics and/or instrumentation5+ years in a manufacturing environment, preferably one that has embraced a Lean culture5+ years in electronics and/or electro-mechanical manufacturingIPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 experience is considered and assetISO 9001 experience is considered and assetStrong computer proficiency Experience using defect / bug tracking softwareKey Success MetricsSelf-motivated individual, with the ability to work supportively within a team environment Continuous improvement mindset, keen on learning new technologies Strong problem solving skills Possess excellent organizational skillsAbility to coach/ mentor junior team membersAdaptable Detail oriented Why Nanometrics? We are a global leader in seismic solutions and a Canada's Best Managed Companies Platinum Club winner. We value sustainable growth that benefits our employees, our community, and the environment. Maximize your productivity with our flexible hybrid work model.
