Machine Operator for the 6 Colour Rotary Die Cutter and Flatbed Die Cutter

We’re looking for a highly motivated and experienced Machine Operator to join our team on the afternoon shift and work with our state-of-the-art 6-Colour Rotary Die Cutter and Flatbed Die Cutter. This is a rotational role,you’ll have the opportunity to build expertise and gain hands-on experience operating both machines. Our 6-colour Rotary Die Cutter features advanced printing capabilities, so ink printing experience is strongly preferred. If you're passionate about high-performance equipment, quality production, and continuous improvement, we want to hear from you Job Type: Permanent  Location: Etobicoke, ON Pay Rate: $25.00 - $30.00 Per Hour Hours: Afternoon Shift Monday – Friday  3:00pm – 11:00pm  What You'll Do for the Hycorr 6 Colour Machine Operator: Work in a safe manner at all times by following all company safety procedures and rules. Wear complete Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) before, during and while inside the production area. Ensure that all Hycorr crews are wearing complete PPE’s, advise to wear accordingly before operating the machine. Keep a safe distance away from the tow motor when corrugated sheets are being brought to the machine. Review work orders to determine job specifications and initial the “Special Instructions” on the Factory Ticket to indicate review and understanding. Review bundle counts and stacking patterns. Ensure Hycorr 2nd person reviews, understands and initials the “Special Instructions” on the Factory Tickets. Direct and assign activities (including the assisting of set up) of Hycorr crew members -2nd person, 3rd person and 4th(if personnel required) and ensure that safety procedures are adhered to. Inputs order information into the Amtech computer in the plant data collection section.. Retrieve SRD from die rack. Lift the die off the rack or floor. Request assistance from Hycorr 2nd person if needed. Conduct or assist in machine set up by properly positioning machine settings for ink, delivery and feeder units. Mount print plates on cylinder(s) to optimize print quality, registration and anilox rolls. Mount cutting dies, put ink in the machine and remove dies for cleaning. Monitor ink levels, viscosity and pH level. Setup the take off section back end as well as the front- end feed section of the machine and perform feeding duties when required. Set-up and inspect print and die cut sections in accordance with proper setup techniques/standards.  What You'll Do for the Flatbed Die Cutter: Work in a safe manner at all times by following all company safety procedures and rules Wear complete Persona; Protective Equipment (PPE) before, during and while inside the production area. Ensure that all Flatbed Die Cutting crew members are wearing complete PPE I s, advise to wear accordingly before operating the machine. Keep a safe distance away from the tow motor when corrugated sheets are being brought to the machine. Set-up, operate and run die cutting machine by properly positioning machine settings in keeping with required job specifications, requirements and "Special Instructions." Verify the correctness of initial set up by validating the setup of matrices and/or counters as pertinent to the job in progress and how they mount to the press Review bundle counts and stacking patterns. Direct and assign activities of Flatbed Die Cutter crew members and ensure that safety procedures are adhered to. Inputs order information into the Encore computer system in the plant data collection section. Retrieve applicable dies and other materials needed for the job run, checking for damage or issues. Cut plastic straps on corrugated sheets using proper tools/equipment, stand back and hold strap in position when cutting it to avoid being hit by the strap under pressure. Operate the Flatbed Die Cutting machine and manage speed to optimize production and maximize the utilization of equipment. Operate the machine at available capacity and ensure die cut registration is correct. Maintain an understanding of die cutting processes, including cutting, creasing, and perforation, as well as their respective characteristics in terms of thickness. 6 Color Rotary Die Cutter Strong technical experience in corrugate converting, preferably with 5-6 colour printing. 1-2 years’ work experience as a Rotary Die Cut Machine Operator Must be able to communicate in fluent English both verbally and in writing. Must have basic math skills and be able to use and read a tape measure. Ability to add and subtract fractions, convert fractions to decimal equivalents and convert inches to millimeters. Some experience in RRP/POS Packaging Production considered an asset. Some computer experience would be considered an asset. Able to interpret variety of instructions in the Factory Ticket. Able to provide and communicate sound information to Supervisor. Able to define problems, collect data /facts (observing, receiving and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources) and draw reasonable conclusions Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and able to work full time hours as required by this position Flatbed Die Cutter Experience operating similar die cut machines or equipment Strong technical experience in corrugate converting Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues Must be able to communicate in fluent English both verbally and in writing. Must have basic math skills and be able to use and read a tape measure. Ability to add and subtract fractions, convert fractions to decimal equivalents and convert inches to millimeters. Some experience in RRP Packaging Production considered an asset. Some computer experience would be considered an asset. Able to interpret variety of instructions in the Factory Ticket.
