New World-Class Hospital Currently under construction on the unceded traditional territory of the Quw’utsun People (Cowichan Tribes), the new Cowichan District Hospital is a testament to the deep partnerships and respectful collaboration that make the Cowichan Valley an exceptional place to live, work and learn. Slated to open in 2027, the state-of-the-art facility will be three times the size of the current hospital, with capacity for 204 beds.
