Job Description Positions SummaryOur commodity merchandiser interns will learn the fundamentals of the business by being immersed in the daily merchandising activities at our Lloydminster location that has trading activity in Eastern Canada, Michigan, Ohio, New York and Vermont. This exciting opportunity will expose students to many aspects of commodity merchandising and will result in a truly meaningful experience.Duties and ResponsibilitiesCommodity Merchandising is being involved with the buying and selling of commodities in the cash market, risk management, as well as making and coordinating transportation of the productThe position is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with growers and/or product accounts, including the handling of logistics, accounting, and other customer related issuesMuch of a typical day is spent on the telephone, keeping customers aware of current grain market news while buying and selling grain or productsThe office environment can be, at times, hectic as market information is shared verbally among the merchandisersThis activity makes the job exciting and challengingAll other duties requiredRequired Skills and QualificationsIf you are within two to four semesters of graduation, and a degree focusing in an agriculture or business-related field, with demonstrated leadership qualities and a conscientious work ethic, then please submit your online application: Education or Work ExperienceCo-op Students are encouraged to apply, please make note on cover letter and resume that you are applying as a Co-op Student Additional Information Work in accordance with local/provincial legislation Understands and is accountable for full compliance with safety and other EHS requirements All candidates must have authorization and the ability to maintain authorization to legally work in Canada.
