Monitor, fill and replenish supplies in resident’s suites, nursing units, and washrooms Empties/cleans waste bins in resident’s suites – move waste to designated trash area Ensure personal health and safety by taking every reasonable precaution in all circumstances Understand role, and participate in the testing process for emergency response Follows safety, environmental and infection control practices as per facility policies Provides input for Wellness Consultation meetings as requested Reports areas and equipment in need of repair to a supervisor Participates in the resident and employee incident reporting and investigation process as required; Completing all duties in a way which is consistent with Shannex’s Philosophy of Service: Your life. Additional duties as required About You In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring: High school diploma or equivalent Home/Personal Support Worker program, Special Care Home program, Health Care Aide or Human Services program, or equivalent Ability to assess and prioritize multiple work assignments while displaying a high level of professionalism and commitment to quality service Adheres to the Standards of Nursing Practice, Code of Ethics, Registered Nurses Act and Regulations as defined by provincial legislation Current knowledge of community resources (e.g., services and programs), and roles of health care professionals Able to work a schedule of flexible hours and shifts inclusive of days, nights, weekends, and holidays Education in Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care is considered an asset Completed Back in Form Lift and Transfer Program is considered an asset Proof of valid CPR & First Aid Certification is considered an asset Additional duties as required About Us Shannex is a family-owned organization with a vision of Better Living for every stage of life.
