Our client, part of a large and diversified group of companies with international reach, is currently seeking an experienced Land Development Manager to join their real estate team based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Your experience working with large-scale development or asset management organizations combined with a strong understanding of municipal processes and regulatory frameworks and up-to-date knowledge of the competitive landscape, development trends, market conditions and emerging opportunities in Atlantic Canada will allow you to play a pivotal role in the organization.Responsibilities will include:Working closely with municipal authorities, planning consultants, engineers and legal advisors to secure zoning, subdivision and site plan approvals. Supporting industrial, commercial and retail land sales and development projects as well as new builds, expansions and redevelopments in support of the larger organization. Assisting with property transactions and portfolio growth strategies including site acquisition and disposition due diligence. Preparing and assessing proformas, budgets, schedules and risk analyses for current and potential projects. Collaborating with internal teams to maximize overall returns for the organization by utilizing real estate to drive other business lines. Engaging with the property management team to support operational efficiencies and provide excellent service to internal and external tenants. Spearheading and overseeing residential land development projects from land acquisition, due diligence and approvals through servicing and final civil construction build-out.Qualifications: Post secondary education in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Business, Real Estate or a related field Progressively senior level experience in real estate, land development or related activities. A strong understanding of leasing, leasehold construction, property management practices and real estate transactions along with superior communication, negotiation, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills will ensure your success in the role. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Real Property Databases such as NS Property online is essential. Proficiency with AutoCAD, GIS and other related software would be a bonus.
