QUALIFICATIONS:Education, Training And ExperienceRegistration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN registrant. Perinatal positions also require (a) completion of a perinatal education program plus breastfeeding course; or (b) 1 year of recent (within the last 2 years) acute perinatal experience. Perinatal positions also require Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within the past 2 years.MHSU positions also require completion of additional education as outlined by BCCNM for practice where Mental Health and/or Substance Use disorders are the primary diagnosis. Hip and Knee Clinic positions also require two (2) years' recent, related surgical and preadmission clinic experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experienceSkills And AbilitiesCommunicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with residents, families, co-workers, members of the multidisciplinary team and the public.Deal with others effectively.Organize work and implement a plan of care.Demonstrate knowledge and competencies to work at full scope of practice as currently required by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives, including administering medications.Operate related equipment.Physically carry out the duties of the position.
