We are seeking employees with a passion for public service who share our commitment to creating a complete, inclusive and livable community.The District of West Vancouver’s Engineering Construction Department currently have temporary full-time Labourer positions available to join our Utilities Construction team. The successful candidate will perform a variety of manual tasks working in the Utilities Construction department. These tasks can include:·Performing a variety of tasks in the construction or operation of water, sewer and storm utility systems;·Locating and repairing leaks, assisting in the installation, repair, and servicing of water, sewer and stormsystems;·cleaning trucks and equipment as needed;·maintaining equipment in a safe and secure manner;·operating basic hand and power tools; such as, shovels, pipe saws, plate tamper, etc.;·maintaining daily pick-up records;·provide manual labourer assistance on various tasks and assignments;·other related duties as required.The successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to:·Work effectively and efficiently in a team environment while maintaining a safety first mentality;·use a variety of tools for general maintenance and construction work;·work outdoors in a physically demanding role in all types of weather conditions;Preference will be given to candidates with any of the following credentials:·Experience or training in utilities construction;·EOCP Certification;·Possession of a valid Class 1 or 3 BC Drivers LicenceThe candidates must hold a valid BC Class 5 Driver's License. Successful candidates will be required to provide an acceptable driver’s abstract, a police information check, and copies of relevant credentials.
