Preventive and predictive maintenance methods are applied as well as performing repairs for unplanned breakdowns. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager. Duties and Responsibilities Troubleshoot; maintain all plant equipment and production tooling, including any related building maintenance electrical. * Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electrical failures on the plant production equipment. * Small fabricating/wiring, or building panel boxes as needed. Equipment installation, build, or design as required. * Perform routine maintenance (PMs) and inspections, as assigned and document accordingly in the internal electronic database Participate in the Emergency Response Team and related activities as required, including being willing to be fitted for and wear a full face respirator Maintain the maintenance shop in accordance with 5S. Identify and record any problems related to the process equipment through designated channels, as applicable. Initiate, recommend or provide solutions to machine or electrical problems through designated channels.* Maintain maintenance records as required such as preventative maintenance (PM) measures Be able to work with minimal supervision to plan assigned jobs and tasks accordingly Use email correspondence to communicate progress on projects and general correspondence Other duties, as assigned. Working Conditions The Maintenance Electrician’s function is performed primarily in the plant environment; therefore, a more than moderate amount of physical effort is required. This may involve repairs, including lifting, supporting, etc. In addition, a good portion of time may be spent in a standing position at a workbench. Working with hazardous substances (e.g. MDI) is a requirement; however, appropriate PPE will prevent exposures and any potential adverse health effects. Most aspects of this job cause tension and anxiety. Examples of such: Handling conflicting priorities under strict deadlines. Workload and pace; the workload is occasionally heavy and fast paced. Concentration and accurate responses are required. This position may require that the individual work overtime on a regular basis as well as be available any time of the day in the event of a breakdown or emergency. Requirements Certified in Ontario as an Industrial Electrician and have a valid 309A endorsement (Electrician) Must be available to work steady day shift, with understanding overtime may be required Ability to receive forklift and propane handling certification is required. Ability and willingness to be fitted for a wear a full face respirator is required Ability to utilize technology - including but not limited to using computers, email, and internal web or software based programs Woodbridge is committed to fostering a diverse workplace.
