Role Overview
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Site Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position requires a hands-on leader who can effectively coordinate teams, trades, suppliers, and subcontractors while maintaining a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and manage construction projects to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
- Supervise and direct employees, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors on-site.
- Maintain a detailed daily log of site activities, progress, and challenges.
- Conduct and lead weekly site meetings to monitor project schedules and deliverables.
- Ensure materials and workmanship meet quality standards and design specifications.
- Work closely with engineers, designers, and inspectors to ensure project compliance.
- Order materials and manage site inventory as needed.
- Schedule and oversee all contractor meetings and site coordination efforts.
- Conduct safety orientations and toolbox talks in collaboration with the Safety Manager.
- Perform daily site walkthroughs for quality control and documentation.
- Identify and resolve potential site issues proactively, working closely with the Project Manager and senior management.
- Ensure all occupancy requirements, inspections, and certifications are completed.
(Additional responsibilities may arise based on project needs.)
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Site Superintendent in residential or commercial construction.
- Strong background in wood-frame multifamily developments, mixed-use, and townhouse projects.
- Deep understanding of construction documents, blueprints, and local building codes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Procore, and SiteDocs.
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Current First Aid certification.
- Red Seal Certification and Telehandler ticket are assets.
