Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).Additional Required Qualifications: Successful completion of CLPNA modules – Standards of Practice on Restricted Activities and Advanced Practice as well as certifications in required competencies. Basic keyboarding/computer skills required. Excellent communication skills required. The ability to balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities is essential. The candidate must be able to work well independently and within a team. Demonstrates critical thinking skills within scope of practice, including clinical judgment, problem solving skills and strong decision-making ability. The successful incumbent will be capable of performing lifts, transfers, repositioning, and other physically demanding activities associated with this role, of at least 50 lbs. regularly.Preferred Qualifications: Experience working within the CoACT framework and Connect Care is preferred. It’s Your Move training is an asset. IV Therapy and PICC certifications are preferred. Experience in acute care and rehabilitation are also preferred. For candidates who hold another job line and would be looking to supplement this as an additional casual line, it is ideal that they have .40 FTE available capacity so that they can meet the scheduling requirements for this team's orientation and training.
