The Vancouver Lawn Tennis & Badminton Club ("the Club") is the city's premier racquets, fitness, and social Club. Located just a few minutes from downtown, the Club offers exceptional tennis, badminton, squash, fitness and aquatics programming for over 4,000 members, along with a variety of social events with upscale-casual dining in 3 restaurants.

We are recruiting for a part-time Kids' Club Leader to join our team.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Reporting to the Aquatics and Juniors Supervisor, the Kids' Club Leader will be responsible for running our weekly Kids' Club Program.  This includes setting up the room, planning activities, and keeping attendance records.  Participants are aged 3-11 years old. Additional hours may be available to help with birthday parties, movie nights, Halloween parties, and other special events.

Hours of work: 

Regular part-time (1 position) on Sundays from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Wage:  $18.00  to $21.00 per hour

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Organize and set up room (craft supplies, toys, etc.).
  • Lead Crafts and activities.
  • Provide an overall entertaining, safe and fun experience for all children.
  • Monitoring attendance including keeping accurate sign-in/sign-out records for billing purposes.
  • Providing supervision to 5-10 kids aged 3+ including conflict resolution and behavior management when required.
  • Clean up and organizing supplies at the end of each session.
  • Enforce program and Club rules.
  • Liaise with parents about behavior issues or other concerns as required.
  • Relay all comments and concerns to the Aquatics & Junior Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Attend to minor first aid incidents as needed (cuts, scrapes, etc.).

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of High School
  • Minimum of 1 year working with children (ages 3 months – 11 years)
  • Emergency or Standard First Aid 
  • CPR Certification
    • High-Five Certification is considered an asset.
    • Experience in Early Childhood Education is an asset.
    • Proficient in English to articulate professionally in member interactions
