Competition # 016-26-7150986 Posting End Date: January 26, 2026 City: Winnipeg Work Location: 825 Sherbrooke St. Department: Underserved Populations Program Union: Non-Union Hiring Status: Term  Reason for Term: Maternity/ Parental Leave Anticipated Start and End Date: ASAP – January 29, 2027 (may expire with two week' notice) FTE: 1.0 Anticipated Shift: Days Daily Hours Worked: 7.75 Annual Base Hours: 2015 Salary: $39.998, $42.725, $45.451, $48.171 Job Summary: Reporting to the Education, Community Relations and Navigation Services Manager, the Program Coordinator - Community Relations leads all steps in activities that start and grow community relations to better understand and respond to community needs to improve cancer control and outcomes in Manitoba. The Program Coordinator will work with stakeholders and committees to complete activities including program and project management, supporting grant funded projects, planning and hosting community-focused events using in-person, virtual and hybrid methods. The Program Coordinator uses health equity and community-based approaches to cancer care, and is responsible for implementing operational goals for the program. The Program Coordinator works closely with the Underserved Populations Program (UPP) team providing day to day direct supervision.  Qualifications: Required: Level of Formal Education & Experience Post secondary degree in Health Services Management, Human Resources, Business Administration, Volunteer Management, or related discipline from an accredited educational institution. 3 years of supervisory experience  3 years of experience with planning, implementing, managing and evaluating projects or programs  2 years of experience in qualitative and quantitative evaluation  3 years of experience working with communities (community engagement/development) and culturally diverse populations 1 year of experience with writing applications for grant funding and progress reports, developing and managing work plans and budgets.  An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Skills and Abilities Knowledge of health equity and how it impacts patient care, experience and outcomes. Awareness and understanding of equity denied populations.  Ability to work independently, being self-directed; and, within a multidisciplinary team.  Establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with all levels of staff, patients, community partners, and the public.  Strong written and oral communication skills, including presenting to various audiences.  Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.  Demonstrated ability to problem solve and think critically.  Must have strong attention to detail.  Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.  Physical Requirements May be required to travel throughout the service area requiring a valid Manitoba driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle.  May be required to work occasional evenings and weekends o Some travel may be required.  Other Must have satisfactory employment record Must be legally able to work in Canada Ability to speak French is considered an asset. Preferred:  Familiar with health care settings.  Experience writing business documents facilitated and/or learned about Adult education.  Fluency in Cree, Dakota, Dene, Inuktitut, Michif, Ojibwe, Oji-Cree, or a language other than English.  Experience with, and demonstrated understanding of, First Nations, Métis and Inuit health issues and experience in respectfully working with First Nations, Métis and Inuit partners.  Experience working in and with communities and understanding of the rural health care environment.  Experience providing Elder / Knowledge Keeper support.  Understanding of written and number-based program evaluation.
