Our mission is to create better health for all Canadians, and we know that starts with our employees. THE ROLE IN A NUTSHELLThe Pharmaceutical Agreements Manager is a member of the Pharmacy Innovation team and is the main point of contact for external stakeholders (pharmaceutical manufacturers, vendors, private payors, etc.) regarding GreenShield’s drug pricing negotiations and innovative program implementation to ultimately create solutions that improve access to better health for plan members, partners and plan sponsors.This position reports to the Manager, Pharmaceutical Agreements:Leads pricing negotiations with pharmaceutical manufacturers for specific drug therapies and medical products to ensure cost sustainabilityParticipates as a voting member of Pharmaceutical & Therapeutics committee, considering and evaluating all drug reviewsCollaborates with external stakeholders – pharmaceutical industry - regarding strategies and approaches for supporting listing of new drug treatmentsDevelops and sustains strong relationships with stakeholders in the drug approval and reimbursement landscape.Represents GreenShield in industry peer groups, external presentations, and conferences to reinforce GreenShield’s position as a leading Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM)Collaborates with pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers on innovative programs, including outcome-based agreements tying reimbursement to achievement of patient health outcomes.Develop strategies regarding formulary management in cooperation with internal Pharmacy Strategy and Pharmacy Operations teamsAssists in the development of internal and external communications related to GreenShield drug management strategiesWork closely with other business units such as Operations, Sales, Finance, third party processing and IT as requiredProvides drug plan management expertise to clients, providers, and suppliers as requiredDemonstrates leadership, influence, agility, and accountability to achieve objectivesEmbraces GreenShield’s Mission and Values, as well as GreenShield leadership behavioursWHO WE'RE LOOKING FORA university degree in business or healthcareAt least 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical sectorSkilled negotiator; experienced in developing strategic partnerships and agreementsExperience in negotiating contracts, prices and termsStrong understanding of drug approval, market access, and reimbursement system in Canada, and the role of private insuranceThe ability to critically appraise economic evidence and scientific literature, and analyze and report model resultsHighly developed verbal and written communication skillsResults oriented with strong strategic thinking capabilities, with a track record of delivering innovative ideas with demonstrated successSeasoned and passionate communicator who excels in visioning, networking and collaboration, including cross-functional integrationExcellent research, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skillsStrong computer skills – Microsoft Office suite.
