#LI-DNI JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION Nurse Practitioner COMPANY AND LOCATION Auxilium Health, Head Office Durham Region (Whitby/Oshawa) EMPLOYMENT TYPE Casual to Part-Time (opportunity to grow to Full-Time) HOURS WORKED 37.5 hours/week, Virtual & On-Site DEPARTMENT / DIVISION Auxilium Health START DATE February 2, 2026 LAST UPDATED December 29, 2025 POSITION SUMMARY: Auxilium Health is building a centre of excellence for truly patient-centred care in Durham Region, with a strong community of practice around IBD management. If you’re an entrepreneurial NP who loves blending clinical work with program design and quality improvement, you’ll feel right at home here. Key Responsibilities: Direct Patient Care (within NP scope) Provide in-clinic care alongside local Gastroenterologists, Dermatologists, Neurologists and Ophthalmologists (episodic primary care, preventative care, chronic disease management, patient education, coordination/transition care). Support IBD patients pre/post-infusion (assessment, monitoring, symptom management, education, navigation). Document thoroughly in the EMR; order appropriate tests/consults; collaborate closely with the interprofessional team. Clinical Operations & Quality (biologic infusion clinic) Support day-to-day operations and nursing workflows; mentor RNs; promote best practices for safe biologic infusions. Draft/maintain policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and clinical pathways; lead quality & safety initiatives (audits, incident reviews, KPI tracking). Contribute to business development (service design, new clinic offerings, partnerships). Education & Community of Practice Develop and deliver patient and team member education (e.g., self-management, meds adherence, infusion readiness). Help build the IBD community of practice (case rounds, journal clubs, guideline adoption, outcomes review). Qualifications: Must-haves Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as NP (PHC or Adult) in good standing, with appropriate PLP.4+ years primary care NP experience. Comfortable with technology and EMRs; strong written & verbal communication. Organized, flexible, collaborative, and eager to build exceptional programming. Nice-to-haves Experience in IBD management, infusion therapy or specialty clinic settings. Clinic operations/quality improvement experience (policy writing, metrics/KPIs, audit cycles). Preceptorship/mentorship experience. Schedule & Location Casual/part-time to start; potential to scale toward full-time as programs grow. Primarily on-site across Durham Region (head office, specialist physician offices, infusion clinics). Some flexibility for planning/EMR work.
